Check Your Resolutions

We’re getting close to half way through 2014. How are your resolutions faring? Take the time to evaluate your performance with your goals, and 60586_lrgcaseadjust your life for a better chance of success:

  1. Reanalyze Your Priorities: Sit down and ponder on the person you are now. Are your resolutions still important to you now? Examine the reasons you kept or ignored your resolutions, and decide whether you’re going to give it up, or if it’s just an issue of timing. A resolution that was crowded out in January might have more success in May.
  2. Focus Deeply on Fewer Goals: By now, you’ve probably noticed that you’ve made some progress in a couple of your resolutions. For those of you who didn’t make a lengthy list, you may have checked most of them off by now. Tackle your remaining resolutions one goal at a time.
  3. Plan Ahead to Avoid Setbacks: If one of your goals is weight loss or fitness related, and you know a birthday party is coming up, be sure to go prepared. Making decisions ahead of trouble spots can reduce the temptation to abandon your goals.
  4. Set Milestones in Your Planner: building habits takes time. Whether you’re trying again or moving on to your next goal, mark out milestones on your planner pages. It’s easier to keep with your goal when you have momentum behind you, and small victories tend to add up to big motivation.

There’s still a lot of 2014 left. Get out there and go for it!
